Landscape of Cream Roses

So I have to admit I've been slacking on bringing our newest creations to everyone over here. So, here's an end to that.

Today, we bring you the latest Roses and Blooms fresh floral creation, the landscape of cream roses. Instead of taking roses and just putting them in a vase with some baby's breath like most florists do, we decided to make something that will be noticed. We start with a rectangular vase, artfully place in the mondial roses, and then wrap the stems in a beautiful leaf to finish the elegant look. These mondial roses really need to be experienced. They last so long, sometimes I think they must be fake! But, alas, they do eventually die, but not before I have had plenty of time to enjoy their enormous heads and the beautiful manner in which they open up. We haven't ever had a rose like this in the past, it may just be the perfect rose.

The Landscape of Cream Roses
This piece is a great one to use for a low centerpiece, allowing plenty of conversation to flow, as an office decorator, or even on a bedroom nightstand to bring a little freshness in into the bedroom.

Let us know what you think about this new creation by responding here of like us on facebook and let us know there. We always love to hear your ideas and if you give us a great one, we'll even name the vase after you!

Can't wait to see you at the shop at 599 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10022 soon!

Dreaming of Pink

As promised, here is the next addition to our brand new Spring series of designs. The dream in pink vase is a beautiful piece that we are sure will be a huge hit. We take a beautiful combination of spring flowers including green hydrangea, white ranunculus, gerberas, and exclusive greens and arrange it in a mouth-blown DutZ vase that we import from Europe. These combine to make a vase that can only be considered a dream! The colors are elegant yet will go along with any interior since they are not overpowering in any way. Let us know what you think of this latest design!

Spring is in the Air

Are you as ready for Spring as we are? It feels like it has been a very, very long winter and it's about time for those long walks in Central Park, strolls down 5th avenue, and for us to get some more bright and cheery colors in our arrangements. We're starting a new series of Spring arrangements and we're releasing our first one today! It is named Spring Sensations and we absolutely love it, especially since we were able to photograph it outside with the beautiful weather! Let us know what you think and be sure to stop by the store for more of the greatest flowers in all of New York!

Fresh Spring Look

Roses and Blooms is now showcasing a fresh Spring look, even though it is snowing outside. Mother Nature may not be on our side so far this year, but we are doing what we can to bring that warm, springtime feeling to New York. I've snapped a few pictures to show you what we are doing, but of course we'd love for you to drop by and see it for yourself!

Mini Phalaenopsis Orchids in DutZ Pots
Here you can see our Spring colors come through not only in our selection of phalaenopsis orchids, but also in the pots they come in. These are some more examples of our DutZ collection, a line we are very proud to be able to carry. Each pot is mouth-blown glass and imported from Europe. Just what we need to continue showing our customers we offer only the highest quality in Manhattan.

Assorted Succulents in DutZ Patina and Evita
Towards our registers, you can see our collection of succulents. These are the perfect plants for anyone, even those with the least green thumbs of all. Minimal care is needed and they always look great, especially when paired with more of our DutZ collection containers. My favorite are the evita, they are the ones with the three feet!

Orchids and Green Trick Dianthus Flowers in Small DutZ Containers
Looking for a cute gift? We're continuing our trend of focusing on colorful DutZ containers in the front display with DutZ flower vases and small patina, frosted containers. All they need is a flower, and they are the perfect gift for a cubicle or small apartment. Or place them in groupings on a plate like we've done here to create a full effect. Isn't that Green Trick Dianthus something else? I love the way it really embodies the spirit of Spring!

Front Window with Large Clear DutZ and Orchids Galore!

And of course our beautiful front windows are done up as usual. This week we've taken our large, clear glass pieces from DutZ and filled them with our gorgeous cymbidium orchids. These vases don't need much to make an impact and the classic elegance of these orchids is just enough to put this over the top.

I hope you've enjoyed our little tour of this week's springtime decor at Roses and Blooms. Come by and see our flowers sometime, we're always excited to get visitors!

Spring Has Sprung

Hello everyone! It's been a while, Valentine's Day was a great holiday, one of the best ever but I have let my blogging duties fall by the wayside.

It may not look like it outside today, but Spring is right around the corner. I love Spring, it is truly a magical time for flowers. Blooms are budding, the air smells crisp and fresh, and we at Roses and Blooms are busy designing new looks for the season. I am planning on doing a series on these new designs, starting today with our new window display at the florist. I'd love to see all of you coming by to see the windows, the team has truly done a fantastic job bringing the flowers and beautiful DutZ glass together to make a large impact. Here are some pictures of the window, of course it doesn't look at good as real life though!

As you can see, we are embracing the less is more approach. You don't have to overload a vase with flowers when you are using quality. Just look at these DutZ clear vases. They are gorgeous on their own and putting too much in them just reduces them to something ordinary instead of celebrating the fact they are hand-made pieces from Holland. We've combined magnolia leaves, quince, and amaryllis to create this elegant, tall look. Don't you think it would look great in a hotel lobby, especially one with a more modern feel to it? I know I can think of plenty of places in New York where a large piece like this would be a sure fire hit!
Let us know what you think of our Spring window display! We always love to hear from our customers and love using your ideas to inspire our future designs. There is no other florist in New York with a window display like ours, it is worth the trip to come by and see it, especially since this Spring display only covers about a third of the window display we have. Stay on the lookout for our continued Spring series, including a new collection of designs for the office and one of the home!

Martin Luther King's Day Gift Ideas

Good Morning New Yorkers! We're back from our trip to Holland with plenty of new design ideas that we'll be sharing with you during the coming months. Many of the design ideas were for Spring designs, so those will be coming as the weather starts warming up.

Today I was thinking about what would make a great Martin Luther King's Day gift. Flowers are, of course, always the perfect gift for any occasion...especially from a New York florist, but which arrangements should we be sharing with our friends as ideas. I wanted something that would share the ideals of Dr. King. Hope, tenacity, peace, and fairness were the ideals that stood out to me. For hope, I decided to go with a colorful design of New York flowers that include plenty of bright colors.
Roses and Blooms' A Perfect Day in Spring has these ideals in it, with hope for all after yesterday's nasty weather for the warm days of Spring to come. Bright, two-tone tulips we import ourselves from Holland are layered with green and white hydrangeas. A few brightly toned leaves are artfully inserted to create more depth. The look is completed by arranging it all in a mouth-blown DutZ pot in a truly Spring inspired color. I love the look of this arrangement and when I look at it, I see hope for better things to come and the brightness and layers always bring a smile to my face.

A Perfect Day in Spring - $120

My second option for a great MLK Day gift idea was the Passion vase. It is also a colorful, Spring-inspired design with cymbidium orchids, pink mini callas, lavender hydrangea, all finished with tropical foliage. It is all inside a uniquely designed DutZ pot to bring a pop to your flowers New York. See the vase below, it is available to our friends for only $99 including Manhattan delivery!

Passion - $99

Santa's Elves are Hard at Work!

No matter what, I can't get the Christmas spirit out of the store. John and Kristi have been teaming up with the Roses and Blooms Elves to create tons of new holiday and winter themed arrangements. Below is just the latest to come out of the New York florist workshop!

Santas DutZ
Santa's DutZ is an elven-made boxwood tree in a mouth-blown DutZ conic vase. The vase may come from Holland but the inspiration for the arrangement is 100% from the North Pole! To bring more cheer to these New York flowers we add some mini pine cones, round ornaments, and some fancier ornaments to finish off the look. Just look at how excited Frosty and Santa are to be a part of this wonderful holiday arrangement! And it's only $145...including delivery to Manhattan! What a great last-minute gift idea.

For the holidays, we love to create more than just flowers New York. Taking lowly greens and creating something extraordinary like our designers have teamed up to do above is what distinguishes our designers from all the rest. That is why we pride ourselves on being a florist New York...we love to be different and create things that touch people. If you are ever in search for inspiration or just want to chat about your love of flowers and other pretty things, come on by the store at 599 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10022 or give our Elvish designers a call at (212) 758 7673.
